20 KILOS FAT LOSS IN JUST 12 WEEKS!

“I returned from travelling around New Zealand with my partner the end of July and my diet while I was there consisted of lots of bread and rice along with a few fast food takeaways. I knew I had put on weight but it finally dawned on me at my 21st birthday just how much I had put on. It was then I decided to do something about it ahead of my wedding. Martin in no uncertain terms he told me it was going to be hard but the results will be worth it with your total dedication to the programme. I knew one to one training would be right for me because It felt good to have someone there making sure you were doing the exercises right.

I was a little bit worried about trying to start a strict diet of meat and veg, but surprisingly I found the routine of the diet easier than I expected. As I got into the diet more and more I started to enjoy cooking all the different recipes I had found. Martin was always on offer to give me advice on different meals I could have. At first I struggled a bit because Martin had told me to eat lots of food and was literally forcing the meals down as I was still full from the last meal, but throughout the programme my appetite increased and I couldn’t believe how much food I could eat. Even my parents were surprised at how big my portions were. To monitor my meals I sent Martin a picture of every meal I had and he could then tell me if I needed to change anything. I found this very reassuring.

To start off the training we took pictures of my initial size and my weight. At 5’9, I started as a size 16, and weighed 86 kilograms. My training was all based around weight and resistance training. I had never done weights before so was looking forward to starting. The programme was split into 4 week sections, I would do certain exercises for 4 weeks then Martin would change the programme to different exercises for the next 4 weeks. He also put in hill sprints and rowing sprints which I enjoyed doing eventually!  After every 4 weeks we took pictures to take a look at my progress. After the first 4 weeks everyone was already starting to comment on changes to my body, this made me more determined to try my very best so I could get the best results. Towards the end of the programme I had to throw most of my clothes away and buy new ones as none of them fitted anymore.

Having now finished the programme I am so happy with the results. It has improved my self confidence and I feel a lot happier in myself. After a few binge days at Christmas I am looking forward to getting back into my training and diet so all of Martins hard work has not gone to waste. I’ve learnt that being on a diet doesn’t mean small meals and lots of cardio; I certainly won’t be doing running anytime soon! Working with Martin has been really enjoyable, he’s taught me how to lead a healthy lifestyle and still be happy. His knowledge and understanding of nutrition and exercise really helped me throughout this programme and I couldn’t have done this without his help and guidance. He was always on hand to offer me help and advice whenever I needed it. At the end of the 12 weeks with Martin I was down to a size 8 and weighted 66 kilograms. Altogether I lost 20kg in 3 months and I am so grateful to Martin for helping me achieve this!”
